AREDS2 formula

Does anyone supplement with antioxidants, like tumeric?

  1. I was just about to start tumeric and buy some today, when I read that it might be a problem for people with gallstones, and that's me. I'll have to run that by my doctor. I do take saffron as well as AREDS2 supplements. Wendy, Patient Leader.

    1. Thanks for replying. Why the saffron?

      1. there were some small studies that showed some success with saffron and my RS said it would be ok for me to take it. I'll see if I can find a link for you. The studies weren't large enough to be statistically significant evidently. Wendy, Patient Leader.

    2. I'd be interested in seeing if. Did the study mention amount of saffron?

      1. this article might be a good start. I'm in no way verifying any studies or results, just sharing what is out there and what we can ask our doctors about 😀https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/how-much-saffron-should-i-take-for-macular-degeneration Best wishes, Wendy, Patient Leader.

    3. i am taking turmeric twice daily. They are enrolling people with dry macular degeneration for a clinical trial. Since the site for the sturdy is so far away I decided to take it on my own. Turmeric is also known to benefit arthritis which I have. It is best to run it by your doctor first to make sure it’s safe for you to take. Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader
