Pocket Magnifier

I appreciate the story "Spring has Sprung" and the visit to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I have visited there many times before AMD set in.

Trouble reading small print

However, no matter where I am, when I decide to eat out, I have trouble with menus (and small notes on price tags, etc.), as I suspect many AMD folks experience.

How pocket magnifiers can help

I am a veteran, and the local Veterans Administration Low Vision Specialist introduced me to a nifty pocket magnifier with a specialized flashlight called easyPOCKET.XL made by Eschenbach in Germany but available in the U.S.

It is much easier to use than my cell phone and is about the size of 5 or 6 playing cards when the magnifier is retracted. Pull open the magnifier, and a small flashlight will illuminate whatever you are reading. Menu small print reading in a dark restaurant resolved!!!
