Wet Macular Injections vs. potential stroke

I have been getting eye injections, both eyes, for 7 years, for wet macular degeneration, and a year ago had a hemmoragic stroke in my brain. Is there any correlation between eye shots and stroke?

  1. Hi we can understand your concerns. This would be an excellent conversation to have with your physician. We do have some information on Beovu and it does state the medication has been associated with an increased of stroke and other conditions. I included the link to the article here - https://maculardegeneration.net/anti-vegf. I hope this helps! Wishing you well. Kindly, Jessica, Team Member

    1. Thank you very much.

    2. Hi Jessica. I got an injection yesterday, and it did not go well. I was up most of the night in pretty severe pain, but doing better today. I guess sometimes they hit a vein or something...

      1. I am sorry your injection was so painful. Do they numb your eye well before the injection? I hope you have a good day free from pain. Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader

    3. They do, but if they hit a nerve in the process, it will continue to bother for a few days. Thank you.

      1. thank you for the explanation. I suppose there is no way to prevent hitting a nerve occasionally. I hope your next injection goes well. Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader
