Did some had expired with this new Valeda light delivery system for try ADM/GA? Let me know, if this help or not, before I pay $2800 dollar. I become injection every 6 weeks in both eyes.

  1. Hi . I do not have experience with the new Valeda light delivery symptom, but here is a forum post about it that includes some comments from people who have been treated with it: https://maculardegeneration.net/forums/valeda-ligh-system-for-dry-amd. I hope this helps. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

They now have red light therapy glasses that you buy from Amazon. The ones that also include the blue light option are cheaper than the ones with just the red light. If you do get the 2 in 1 than make sure that you choose the red light option. The combo ones are in the $70 dollar range and the red only ones range in the $80 and up range.

Here is the Eye Health Institute's red light therapy glasses for $150 dollars. They are out of stock and they cost more than Amazon but I am including the link for you to view their video on the benefits of red light therapy glasses for macular degeneration.

    1. I just learned about it and so I haven't yet talked to my doctor/tried it yet

I was looking at the Eye Health Institute website and saw that they have red eye therapy glasses and wanted to share that on this forum. I was going to start a new post but saw that someone wanted to know the effectiveness of Valeda since it is expensive and red light therapy glasses are a one time purchase and at a affordable price point.

The Eye Health Institute is out of them and so I added the Amazon link to purchase similar red therapy glasses.

Hopefully when combining the red therapy glasses with the injections that one would have more time between injections and so less injections overall.

  3. I saw another review in which their retina specialist talked about red light therapy. The reviewer said that the RS saw improvement and was impressed with the red light therapy glasses.

  4. The reviewer said that their RS said to do the therapy sessions in the dark instead of in the light like Lukirch indicated to do. This conforms to the Eye Institute red light therapy glasses design which is enclosed so that it creates it own dark area.

Also the Lukirch instructions also indicate that those with cataracts should not use it. I also have cataracts and so I checked with the Eye Institute about their red light therapy glasses and their eye doctor said that red light therapy will not accelerate cataract progression. So it could be that Lukirch is covering their bases with extra caution.

    1. There aren't many studies on the home treatment yet, but it seems like it would be worth trying. I would consult your doctor first though. It's important that your doctor know about any outside treatments just in case. If you do try them, we'd love to hear more about it over time. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
