They seem to potentially work really well but i haven't come across anyone selling them.
Hi Lori! I looked into Thorne's Super EPA Pro but no VLC-PUFA in the product 🙁 Hi
. Now that I look more closely, I see that the product comes up when I do the search, but there is no way to know whether Thorne's Omega 3 has a substantial amount of VLC-PUFA. The only other one I found is Epax, which has already mentioned. Hopefully, Epax will soon become available to producers of supplements or maybe the the company will create its own supplement. In the meantime, maybe your relatives can ask their doctors whether there are any clinical trials involving VLC-PUFA looking for new patients. It sounds promising! - Lori (Team Member)
Hi, I did find that Epax has developed a commercially available form.
Regulatory approvalsEpax emphasizes that it now holds several patents in this field. Epax Evolve 05 is now presented as part of its NovusLipid range, which features innovative marine-derived ingredients. However, Epax reveals that, unlike many novel marine-based ingredients, Epax Evolve 05 has already cleared key regulatory hurdles.
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority, acting on behalf of the European Food Safety Authority, determined that the product is not a Novel Food, allowing its sale across the EU.
In the US, the ingredient has attained self-affirmed GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status following rigorous genotoxicity and toxicology studies, culminating in two peer-reviewed publications.
Commercial availability marks a significant step forward, and Epax says this will enable researchers to utilize the ingredient for clinical trials and intervention studies.

Thanks for the lead! I'm looking into it and it seems Epax is purely Business-To-Business. I can't find a supplement with a VLC-PUFA in it (yet).

So we will have to wait until the clinical trials and intervention studies are done before we can get to the point where we can start buying it in supplement form.
Hopefully they will get through this phase quickly so that we can start buying the supplement.
Since they are in the clinical trial and intervention studies phase, your relative could look for a clinical trial to enter and start taking it that way.
