Macula and Cataract Surgery

Hello I'm having mt Macular and Cataract Surgery tomorrow Friday and quite Frightened as I don't no what to expect I'm an Anxious person too Can Someone re/assure me Thankyou

  1. Hi . I understand your nervousness. I need cataract surgery in the near future and the thought of it scares me, but I have been reassured by so many people who tell me that it is easy and painless with a quick recovery. I have no experience with macular translocation surgery, but I did some light research and it also seems to have a quick recovery time. I hope someone else chimes in who has undergone macular translocation and can put your mind at ease. Please let us know how it goes. Sending lots of positive vibes for a successful surgery and an easy recovery. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. It’s completely normal to feel anxious before eye surgery, but cataract and macular procedures are very common and usually go smoothly. The team will keep you comfortable, and most people only notice some mild pressure rather than pain.

Recovery typically involves using eye drops, protecting the eye, and attending follow-ups, and many patients are pleasantly surprised at how much their vision improves afterwards—try to focus on the fact that this is being done to help your sight and that you’ll be in safe hands.

  3. I have had nothing but negative results following cataract surgery. I have wet md in my left eye and dry in my right. My eyes burn constantly following cataract surgery, I have severe dry eyes now and use eye drops several times daily. I never had dry eyes prior to surgery. I am uncomfortable all the time.My vision has been compromised due to dry eyes now. I received no help from the surgeon, his only comment was “your brain will get used to it “ and that has NOT happened. Seven long years of suffering!

    1. I wish you'd had a better outcome. Have you considered finding a new doctor or at least getting a second opinion? You deserve better. Sending lots of gentle hugs your way. - Lori (Team Member)

  4. I am also down for both operations in the near future on my left eye I already have had Cataract removal on my right eye which turned out great just eye drops to put in for 4 weeks I was just wondering what after effects will be after the Macular operation
