Macula and Cataract Surgery

Hello I'm having mt Macular and Cataract Surgery tomorrow Friday and quite Frightened as I don't no what to expect I'm an Anxious person too Can Someone re/assure me Thankyou

  1. Hi . I understand your nervousness. I need cataract surgery in the near future and the thought of it scares me, but I have been reassured by so many people who tell me that it is easy and painless with a quick recovery. I have no experience with macular translocation surgery, but I did some light research and it also seems to have a quick recovery time. I hope someone else chimes in who has undergone macular translocation and can put your mind at ease. Please let us know how it goes. Sending lots of positive vibes for a successful surgery and an easy recovery. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. It’s completely normal to feel anxious before eye surgery, but cataract and macular procedures are very common and usually go smoothly. The team will keep you comfortable, and most people only notice some mild pressure rather than pain.

Recovery typically involves using eye drops, protecting the eye, and attending follow-ups, and many patients are pleasantly surprised at how much their vision improves afterwards—try to focus on the fact that this is being done to help your sight and that you’ll be in safe hands.
