Macula and Cataract Surgery

Hi Anne ( ). Welcome to the community! Most people who have cataract surgery with dry AMD do very well and report clearer vision after. The results are a bit mixed with wet AMD. Are cataracts severely impacting your vision? I've known lots of people who've had the surgery and were thrilled to discover better vision after. I understand your nervousness though. I will need the surgery in a year or two and the thought of it freaks me out. Yet two of brothers had it and said they were calm thanks to medications and never felt a thing. They also said the procedure was over and done with in no time, and they both healed very quickly. I found that super reassuring and I hope you do as well.
