Light sensitivity

I have wet and dry in both eyes. I’ve been getting shots in my right eye for 10 years and in my left eye for 6 years. My right eye had a major bleed because the shots were too far apart(13 weeks) I had another bleed in that eye 3 weeks after the major one. I changed retina specialist and he started using an injection of a brand new med. I think it’s Visizmo (sp?) Every 4 weeks and stabilized the eye. The bleeds caused scarring on the Macula and my vision in that eye is extremely distorted. My biggest problem is light sensitivity. Bright sun causes me not to be able to see until I get out of the bright light. When I go inside after being out in sunlight, I cannot see at all until my eyes slowly adjust. Paradoxically I need bright light on whatever I’m trying to read. I just have the light on the page but I can’t look at the light itself. My retina doc says this all is caused by dry AMD. Until now I didn’t know I could have wet and dry in the same eye as wet. Any information about light sensitivity will be appreciated.

  1. light densitivity is a major problem for many of us with AMD. Our eyes are sensitive to light while we need more light to properly see. If you type light sensitivity in the search bar you can read posts and articles on the subject. Some people wear a visor indoors to limit light. It take time to work out what works for you.
