  1. Hi . Please know that you are not alone. Many people struggle to cope with macular dengeration and the uncertainty of progression. They good news is that they usually find a way. What worries you most right now? Gentle hugs. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. I am so scared every day is a struggle to keep my sanity I pay how am I going to manage my checking account and pay bills

    1. Hi . Those are scary things to think about, for sure. Are you still able to see fairly well or have you progressed quite a bit? Progression is different for everyone, so I hope you never reach a point where those things are an issue. Still, some people find it really helpful to research and prepare in case that time does come. For instance, you could contact your bank and see if they provide special services for the visually impaired. Is there someone you trust to eventually take over your accounting? It can bring you piece of mind to make that kind of arrangement well in advance.
You can also make accomodations around your home well in advance. Decluttering can make a big difference as can reimagining your bathroom and kitchen to make everything more accessible. Here is a wonderful article with tibits of advice for coping with progression from some of our Health Leaders: https://maculardegeneration.net/living/advocate-coping-acceptance. I hope you find them helpful. Remember that we're here for you whenever you need us. Gentle hugs. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Hi . Unfortunately, we can't offer that kind of support. Do you have a friend or family member who can help you set up a GoFundMe campaign? You can also reach out to your local Office of the Aging. They might have programs to help with your furnace issue. Please keep us posted. I'll be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
