A New Treatment on the Horizon

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/27/magazine/cell-rejuventation-biotech-longevity-research-altos-labs.html. This is a recent article in the New York Times on a new treatment for age related disease using cell rejuvination. So far most of the successes were on lab mice and rats. For example they removed a failing kidney from a lab rat, rejuvinated it , and reattached it. So far these tests are on lab animals, but they are starting a study on humans for an age related disease: glaucoma. If this experimental treatment is successfull I expect age related diseases of the retina will soon follow.

  1. Hi . Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately, people need a NYT subscription to read the article, but here is a link to the Altos Labs website and their own description of their work: https://www.altoslabs.com/science. It will be really interesting to see how this all unfolds. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. Thanks for the link to Altos Labs and the human trials of cell rejuvination with glaucoma. It is in our interest that they picked macular degeneration for a human trial but glaucoma is a good start. Also I think glaucoma is amore serious condition and causes more blindness than age related MD.
