Geographic Atrophy

I have had wet macular degeneration in my left eye for three years and learned two weeks ago that I also have Geographic Atrophy in my left eye. Is this a mistake? I thought that people only get GA as part of dry macular degeneration.

  1. Hi That's a good question and I wish I had answers. Here is an article about the different types of macular degeneration, but I'm not sure the article helps clarify anything for you: https://maculardegeneration.net/types. If GA was always present and you weren't diagnosed or treated for it, you might want to consider a second opinion or finding another doctor. Has your current doctor offered any explanation? Hopefully, others will chime in here with their own experiences. Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
