Dry AMD and genetic risks

Hello everyone, based on 23andme health report I have the Y402H variant in the CFH gene, and the A69S in the ARMS2 gene and puts me an increased risk of developing AMD. I am wondering if there is anyone who is a carrier of both and developed a AMD. My doc told me that AREDS do not work really to prevent it....I am worried getting blind

  1. I can understand your concern about developing AMD because of your genetic makeup. While genetic play a role there are modifiable risk factors. We can control our genetic makeup but we can lower our risk. I am including a link you may find helpful. https://maculardegeneration.net/living/sharing-healthy-habits-prevents-amd.
