Eye Injection Aftercare

I have been getting injections for over 5 years starting with my left eye, then both eyes for two years, and now just in my right eye for wet AMD.

Receiving Izervay injections for dry AMD

I have also been getting injections of Izervay monthly to reduce the progression of dry AMD in my right eye. Hopefully it will help.

My post-injection eye care routine

After the injections my eye is flushed and a numbing drop and drop of No More Tears is applied. Finally a drop of prednisone is given. My instructions are do not rub your eye, use an ice pack if needed, take Advil if needed and use an eye lubricant. I use Refresh 4 times daily or more for the next 4 days. It usually takes 4-12 hours for the injection site to heal.

If you are just beginning injections your eye will be so numb you will not feel anything, but if you do, find a different retinal specialist to go to.
