I have had eye problems for years — keratosis and astigmatism. My macula had been getting worse; then, last June, in 5 minutes it went from me being able to see print with my RPG reading lens to a blur.

Losing my license

In Regional NSW nothing happens fast, so optometrist, specialist, referral to eye hospital in Newcastle. Immediate removal of my license. Mental anguish.

Surgery and further treatment

Operation and recovery for a hole in left macula, then on follow-up from surgery found pressure in the high 40s. Back in again to have 3 stents and a special lens put in.

Follow-up from that surgery — pressures in left OK, right over. BUT huge camel humps on my macula in both eyes.

Starting injections

Immediate injections. Had two more since and another this Friday, all the while my eyesight gets worse with multiple falls. The story goes on.
