Betadine Reaction

I have wet AMD in both eyes. I am allergic to Betadine.

My reaction to Betadine

EXTREME PAIN. I am 78 and I have NEVER experienced this type of pain. They can flush it over and over, no help. I refuse to have it used.

Stable for 2 years

I had Avastin injections for a year. Then for 2 years I was stable in both eyes. About a month ago I noticed vision problems in my left eye.

My RS recommended injections

My RS implored me to start injections, but I refused as they only use Betadine. My last resort was laser surgery, which I had on 8/1/25.

I see the RS in 6 weeks when he will see if it helped. I have seen no improvement thus far.

Life after surgery

It has been 4 days since surgery. He told me it was a 50/50 chance of success. I'll keep you posted. Stay safe, love this forum.
