My Doctor wants to start injections for my dry amd, monthly,

My last trip to my ophthalmologist, my doc said I had reached a threshold for injections for the dry amd in my right eye. These injections are monthly, with no time limit. I think it may be a new drug. I’m very anxious about this, does anyone have any advice?

  1. no advice but I can tell you my injections of Izervay for GA have been successful; exceeding my expectations. Izervay can be given monthly or every 2 months. I have been stable since December 2023 with injections every 2 months.

    1. Hi . Do you know what medication you have been receiving? Is your doctor referring to an insurance threshold or does the doctor feel that your eye can't handle more injections? If you haven't already, you might want to message your doctor with some of your questions and concerns. I find that doctors (or their nurses) and often more patient and responsive when I message them. Please let us know what you find out. I'll be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)

      1. i think her Dr.may be referring to the degree of the disease. As threshold. My dr said i would have to be at the advanced stage of dry AMD to qualify for the injections. Which Im close.

      2. Thanks for the clarification! I appreciate it. - Lori (Team Member)
