Aides for computer work

I’m about to start writing my second book. As I finished recording the first one my vision was declining. Now I’m at the point where with 28pt Bold type I can see the words, but cannot navigate the commands at the top of the page for “insert” or “print” etc. Took my laptop to a store to try large monitors, but while the page itself was huge, the command selections are not enlarged. Any ideas of what I can do? Thanks.

  1. Hi . Have you tried using a magnifying glass to see the commands? This article also has some great ideas, including an option on Microsoft Windows that allows you to make everything bigger, not just the font: https://maculardegeneration.net/living/windows-accessibility. I hope this helps and that you succeed in getting your second book out into the world. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. WOW…. thanks so much! I will be doing that today. It is so comforting to have a place where discussions can be held as vision changes. Seems like every day is a new day now, and I am looking at it with more interest and fear. Thanks again.
