I have recently bought a large-screen smart television. I chose a 65 inch one. What I was mainly looking for was the accessibility features. I wanted to be able to do as much as possible using my voice, or by having the TV itself tell me what channel I was on. I also wanted the remote control to be easy to use, because I know my parents had trouble with that when their sight worsened. I chose a Samsung television and I'm happy with it. I thought the remote was terrible at first. I couldn't understand why it was so small and had so few buttons. But now I know! I can use it completely in the dark even though it doesn't light up. You get to know the little bumps and ridges and can operate it by feel. I'm pretty sure, though, that most new televisions have all these accessibility features (perhaps not the same style of remote.) I also have a Samsung phone so that was another reason to choose the same brand for compatibility. I think you have to do a lot of research at home, rather than rely on what the people in the stores tell you, because they don't always know about the accessibility features. If you enjoy watching Netflix or Amazon Prime or the like, find out which of these apps are built into the television. That saves some trouble. Also find out if the television is compatible with Alexa or Google voice assistant, because that is another way to control it. I'm still learning. I don't use half of the assistive options available, but I know they're there. Good luck in your search. Best wishes, Wendy, Patient Leader.
