So far it hasn’t bothered my mental health.

  1. That's very good to hear, . I hope it never becomes an issue for you, but, that if it does, you will reach out to someone you trust for help. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. I just turned wet in one eye. Now Im having shots in that eye. With this cold and icy storm that hit Texas and rest of US, Im worried. What if I have an emergency? For the first time, Im very concerned about how I will manage alone. I have neighbors I can call but my family live too far away to really help. Thank good we didnt lose power like we did 4 yrs. ago. How do I find a support group related to MD in my area? That would help.

    2. Hi . Those are some legitimate concerns. Can you sit down with your family and devise a plan that involves recruiting local help until one of your family members can be there? Are you able to afford a whole house generator, one that kicks in when the power goes out?
Here is a link the Macular Society website: https://www.macularsociety.org/support/support-group/local-groups/. You might find some information about in-person support there. The American Macular Degeneration Foundation gives some good advice on its website as well: https://www.macular.org/living-and-thriving-with-amd/low-vision-resources. I hope this helps. Stay warm and safe. - Lori (Team Member)
