Day by Day with AMD

Day by day, I get up and wash my face, grab my glasses, fix breakfast, take my eye vitamins with the morning meal to reduce the harshness of the pills, and then make a cup of tea. Over tea I get comfortable with the day's tasks and ease my mind at how much longer each task of reading and writing will take due to reduced vision.

By the time the tea is drank or cooled, I'm ready to shift my body into the gear. Never being one to nap, I find now that ten minutes of resting my eyes closed will interrupt my work at some point so at that point I relax and enjoy the down time. Then resume my day. Sunglasses and cap with a visor are by the door for the afternoon walk. That's it. I do what I can and don't worry about the what's gone or what's going in terms of my vision. I can always adjust. That's the constant in my life.
