I can understand your concern about drug costs to treat wet AMD. My Mom had wet AMD and her treatment was covered in full by her traditional Medicare plus supplement. She received treatment for several years prior to her death and never had a co-pay. My sister has wet macular degeneration in both eyes and is currently receiving treatment. Like my mom, she has Medicare and a supplement plan that covers her cost in full. I had a good friend with wet macular degeneration that received injections. He had a Medicare advantage plan which is very different from the traditional Medicare. He had a $50 co-pay for each visit to his retinal specialist. I have not had any personal experience with anyone receiving treatment with private insurance. I would think if you had a discussion with the billing department at the practice where you receive care they should be able to give you a good idea of any cost you may have to pay.
