Lumi Thera treatments, using the valeda machine

The clinics are all over Europe. I spent four weeks in Switzerland to receive the treatments; 3 each week for 3 weeks. and a fourth week so the doctor can measure your response at week's end. I was able to read three more lines on the eye chart, but the doctor stated that would go down, since AMD degenerates. The good news is it slowed AMD's progress for three months. The doctor stated I should get another series of treatments in three months and then six months later another series. When I left for Switzerland, it was thought the FDA would have it approved by the end of spring. That has not happened. But they are still working on it; hopefully it will be FDA approved by end of summer. I'm concerned for all the millions of people who are prevented from getting this important treatment. I wrote to the Lumi Thera Company, and they are waiting for FDA approval, but are currently researching potential locations, but no final decisions have been made. 1. thank you for sharing this interesting comment with us. It seems there have been studies done which show promising results. More clinical trials with a larger population are planned. Your results sound very good. Is this a treatment that would need to be ongoing for life for you? Wendy, Patient Leader.

    1. I don't think so. I just read that some people keep them going for four years.

    2. it would indeed be good if there was a end time and the treatments didn't have to be continued for ever. Wendy, Patient Leader.

  2. Hopeful news😊

    1. yes, I agree. There is a lot of information on this to sort through online, much of it positive. Wendy, Patient Leader.
