Did your specialist suggest starting injections for GA as soon as it began to develop, or did they say to wait until it got a bit worse. I'm wondering how poor one's sight has to be before they commence the shots. Wendy, Patient Leader.
Hello - I have not reached this stage, thankfully, but I can't imagine a doc waiting to treat until it is worse. Everything I have read about AMD in general says - immediate attention is needed. Only my opinion - I'll be curious to see any other input. Regards...

I have some "geographic spots or areas" I think he called them. Because Izervay and Syfovre are only for the advanced form, I wondered if I was at that stage. I will ask at next visit, but just wondering what other folks were told. Because there are risks involved, I wondered if some doctors didn't want to start "too soon". Wendy, Patient Leader.

I can't imagine why waiting would be beneficial. I hope you get your treatment soon or an explanation why it's delayed. Keeping you in my thoughts ❤️

I recently listened to a video chat on Brightfocus. The doctor stated that once you have GA, the earlier the treatment starts the better. As the cell die treatment won’t regenerate them. I hope the 2 drugs get approved in Europe and Australia soon. Sharon Moore, patient leader

8 hope it's available in Australia soon for you when and if you need it. Maybe the GA will never progress any further ❤️

thank you. We can always hope. I plan to check up on where we're at in the New Year. Australia doesn't take anyone's word for it when it comes to new medications. We test it ourselves as well. That could be considered good or bad 😀. Wendy, Patient Leader.

I imagine when it comes to new meds the USA is about the same. New meds are always scary to me

yes, but you guys do it before us. That gives you the first chance, but we can also see how you go, so it works in a number of ways. I do hope they hurry up here, but the thought of even more injections is daunting. Wendy, Patient Leader.
