When should my retina specialist suggest injections?

Currently my eyes seem to be worsening, at least the right eye, but my retina specialist did not recommend injections yet. When did you get your first injection? My right eye is at 20/80 and some days is worse than others. I try to eat a healthy diet and eliminating sugar and white flour. I also am getting ready to start a strong vitamin regimen one doctor recommended.

  1. I'm sorry to hear that your eyes seem to be worsening. Do you know if your macular degeneration is the wet type or the dry type? Injections are only used on the wet type. If you feel like sharing a little more about your diagnosis, we can give you a bit more support. The supplements recommended by most eye specialists conform to what they call the AREDS2 formulation. I've put a link to an article about them here https://maculardegeneration.net/areds-vs-areds2/ Any supplements you take should be with your doctor's recommendation. Best wishes, Wendy, Advocate.

    1. I'm just checking in to see how you're going. Did you have it confirmed whether you have wet or dry macular degeneration? Have you needed an injection? Thinking of you, Wendy, Advocate.
