Macular Hole
Has anyone suffered a macular hole and decided to get it surgically repaired (or not)? Would you share your experience before, during and after the operation. How did you manage the recovery time? Did you have to lie flat on your stomach? Are you happy with the results? Asking for a Community member who is possibly facing this operation. Wendy, Advocate.
I have never heard of this and will look forward to the replies!
My husband had a vitrectomy 15 years ago to close a macular hole. At that time the patient was required to remain facedown for 10 to 14 days. My husband rented a special chair that resembled a recumbent bike to maintain the required position. His macular hole close successfully.
