Learning how to live with my disease

I am 72 years young and I suffered all my life not knowing I had macular degeneration dry. I have cataracts. I have Charles Bounty syndrome.
Family members do sometimes laugh at me don't understand at all. I watch TV like you're watching the computer when you're working on it.

  1. thank you for sharing what is happening for you with your eyes. You certainly do have a lot going on! I'm sorry to hear you've suffered for so long. When were you diagnosed? Has your doctor recommended taking AREDS2 supplements to try to slow the progression of the disease? My mother had Charles Bonnet Syndrome, so I have a lot of experience with how it affects someone. I hope the visions aren't frightening for you. As you look through our website, you'll find a lot of articles to help you regarding lifestyle changes and ways to cope with vision loss. Please let us know if you have any specific questions. I hope your family can have a look at our site too. Best wishes to you, Wendy, Advocate.
