A Community Member recently had a very important reminder for us all @ddaronian. When checking our vision between doctors' appointments, we should check each eye individually. If we use an Amsler Grid, we should carefully and fully cover one eye and check the sight of the other eye. Then repeat the procedure with the other eye (wearing our reading glasses if we have them.) We should do the same if we also look at straight lines, such as door frames or window ledges, to check our sight (although this doesn't replace the Amsler Grid according to my doctor.) I know that one of my eyes compensates for the other, so if I only checked with both eyes together, things would look fine. Sometimes people don’t notice problems, and macular degeneration can sneak up on them, because they haven’t checked each eye separately. Are you careful to check one eye at a time?
