It's MacularDegeneration.net's 1st Birthday!

It has been one year since the MacularDegeneration.net community first launched, and we could not be prouder of the support, trust, and community that you all have built here over the past year. To celebrate one year of MacularDegeneration.net, we asked you all to share what this community has meant to you. Here's what you had to say:

A place for macular degeneration information

So many of you said that the information you’ve found here has been invaluable to you. You have learned so much more about the condition and have found common understanding with others who are living with it. From macular degeneration symptoms, progression, and treatments to other eye conditions or aging concerns, we aim to give you accurate and up-to-date information so that you can better understand and make more informed decisions.

Here were some of the things you all said:

"A great place for learning and mutual support!"

"Great place to get information from others who are going through same problems thanks"

"Appreciate all the information I can trust"

"So glad that l found this site... has really helped me with understanding"

A place for macular degeneration support

Many of you have come here seeking support and encouragement and have found it in the stories and many relatable experiences from others living with macular degeneration. From your diagnosis story to your first eye injection or even day-to-day challenges, there is always someone on the other side of the screen who understands exactly what you are going through.

"Love you guys 💛💚💛"

"Very helpful and encouraging for others!!!"

"A place to share my experience and to learn from others."

A place to show others what life with MD looks like

Those who do not live with macular degeneration do not fully understand what it is like. It's one of the many downfalls of living with an invisible condition that impacts your vision. Our visuals and advocate articles seem to have helped many of you explain the condition to others and show them just what you are going through. We are so glad that our images look similar to that of what you experience and that you can use them to help explain to family, friends, and sometimes, even strangers.

"It’s hard trying to explain MD to others, I have wet AMD in both eyes yet I can still drive, can read take care of myself. Sounds good, right it is I have a hard time explaining the problems we have with wet AMD"

"Great information and visuals to share with those who need to understand MD. Also, comments from others reminds me that I am not alone in my journey."

"Love the information and pictures that helped me show my friends and family what I see"

Thank YOU!

Thank you for being here, supporting each other, and reminding one another that no one is alone here. We absolutely love being here for you and cannot wait to celebrate another year of MacularDegeneration.net!

Your friends,
The MacularDegeneration.net Team
