Wet Macular Degeneration

Hi there, I am 46 years old and have been recently diagnosed with wet MD. I woke up one morning and noticed wavy lines and blurry vision. It seemed to have happened very suddenly. I have had my first course of injections and haven't seen any change in my vision. Has anyone here noticed their vision improve after taking these or are these primarily to stop the blood vessels from leaking any further? I know our bodies react differently but any shared experiences would be helpful. Thank you

  1. the primary purpose is to slow the progression but some experience an improvement over time. https://www.aao.org/eye-health/drugs/anti-vegf-treatments
I hope you see improvements soon. Warm wishes, Sharon Moore Patient Leader

    1. Sorry to hear that. Sometimes you need a different eye injection drug. They are not all the same and another may work better for you. I am having Avastin in my right eye and Eylea in my left.

      1. thank you for this interesting reply to the question. This is the first time I have heard anyone comment that they are having a different injection medication in each eye. Your doctor must be quite vigilant in working out which is the best one or ones for you. Wendy, Patient Leader.
