Vertigo

I was just diagnosed with wet macular degeneration. I developed blurry vision in my right eye. I received my first shot 2 weeks ago. The blurring has not improved yet. I have been struggling with intense vertigo. I believe it is because my vision is off. Has anyone else struggled with this and what did they do? I called the doctor and was told the vertigo was due to an inner ear problem and that the blurry vision could take up to 3 shots to clear.

  1. Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing vertigo. I know how uncomfortable and scary it feels to have a vertigo attack. I've never personally experienced vertigo due to vision problems, but I'm hopeful that one of our community members can share if they've experienced this. If you haven't done so already, perhaps you can consult with an ear nose and throat doctor to rule out the vertigo being caused by inner ear crystal imbalance. Wishing you well. Please keep us posted on how you continue to feel and I really hope the blurry vision starts to clear up. Best, Abby (Team Member).

    1. Thank you for your advice. Very useful. I will schedule an appointment as soon as possible. I did go online and found the Epley maneuver and tried that yesterday and today. And I have noticed improvement. I’ll let you know how it goes.

      1. I've suffered vertigo too, only once, but it was unrelated to my macular degeneration. I did worry about my vision for a while, but mainly because the room was spinning! I saw an ear, nose and throat specialist, and after a full hearing test, then a brain mri because my hearing wasn't perfect, he performed the Epley manoeuvre on me. It was strange procedure as I had to sit on his examination table and "fall back into his arms." He caught me, moved my head from side to side, then let me go, and I dangled head down for some time while he saw other patients. When he came back and restored me to a more dignified position, I was better. It hasn't happened again and I have no idea what caused it the first time. I hope you get your's sorted out without too much trouble. Best wishes, Wendy, Patient Leader.

    2. Hi, I have experienced vertigo in the past, not due to visual problems. Have you had your blood pressure checked as I have macular degeneration and was dizzy just before my eye went wet.
