Veleda Light Delivery System for dry mild ARMD

I have been diagnosed with mild dry ARMD, both eyes. Has anyone undergone this treatment and what is your experience.
There is a lot of information on trials and private clinics offering treatment but no personal experiences

  1. I have no personal experience with this treatment. According to this article published in September 2023 it has not received fda approval. If you haven’t already done so you might want to talk to your doctor before starting treatment. https://www.retinalphysician.com/issues/2023/september-2023/clinical-trial-download-lightsite-iii-24-month-pho#. It would be wonderful to have a treatment for early AMD. Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader

  2. Thank you Sharon. Still learning how to use this site. I have not had the treatment yet. Just trying to find out more about it and hoping someone on the forum might have had it. Regards,

    1. you may still receive a reply from a community member with experience with this treatment. Welcome to the maculardegeneration.net website. I urge you to check out all the information using the menu upper lift. The search option is very helpful. You could type in the name of this treatment and any prior mention would pop up. 3. Finished my first set of 9. Because of extreme distance to the machine and husband’s hospitalizations (yes, plural) I did 2 treatments per week and skipped a week once. The therapy really helped. The huge black blob in both eyes shrunk and turned grey. I could see faces better.

    1. That's great news! I hope you continue to have success with it. Does insurance cover Veleda therapy for you? I'm sorry to hear about your husband's hospitalizations. Is he home and recovering now? Sending you both the best of wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
