Stressing Over Possibilities That Dry Could Become Wet

Although only 20% of dry AMD goes wet, it doesn’t stop me from feeling anxious with any vision changes. I would love to hear from people who had dry that turned wet. What specific changes did you notice? Was it obvious? A friend told me she did not notice when her dry went to wet which concerns me. What were your experiences? Linda Hoopes, Advocate

  1. Linda, I simply went to my optometrist to get new glasses and he spotted some shadows on my macula during the exam....next thing I knew I was referred to an RS and he told me I had wet in one eye and dry in the other. That was 9 yrs ago. I just thought I needed stronger lenses. My takeaway is a yearly eye exam, especially after age 50, is so important for everyone. Richard-Advocate
