Not Sure about MD

Hi, I am a bit confused about being diagnosed with MD. I am a 68 yr old female, I have blurred vision in my right eye that can’t be corrected with glasses. No actual vision loss. The optometrist says that I don’t have MD. On the other hand the retina specialist says that I have MD. I am taking Ocuvite just in case.
Is there anyone else face with a similar dilemma?
Thank you.

  1. Others in the community have had similar experiences with doctors disagreeing on the diagnosis. A retinal specialist is the specialty trained to diagnose AMD and treat if needed. Are you seeing your eye doctor on a regular basis? Blurred vision is a hallmark symptom for macular degeneration. There are lifestyle changes that may help slow the progression. https://maculardegeneration.net/lifestyle-changes. Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader
