Floaters after cataract surgery

I've been told that "YAG" is too risky to remove floaters. Any experience?

  1. My retinal specialist told me that I would need a vitrectomy to remove the floaters at some points. He did not mention the laser procedure. I found a very thorough article covering the risk and benefits you may be interested in https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7140748/

    1. Thank you very much. I will take a look.

  2. I had the Yag after my cataract surgeries and still have floaters. But not as many. My eyesight got worse after the Yag procedure so wish I'd never had it. Retina specialists tell me its not my MD. So going to another retina and MD specialist in 2 weeks. Praying he can offer some hope.

    1. , I’m sorry this happened to you. I had the YAG procedure in one eye after cataract surgery many years ago. It improved my eyesight. I hope your new doctor can help. Please keep us updated, we do care. Cora Lyn, MacularDegeneration.net Team Member
