Eye Vitamins

Has anyone used Areds 2 or Vision Alive Max and found that they actually help.

  1. the areds2 eye vitamins went through clinical trials and have a good track record to slow progression for some people. I am not aware of trials for vision alive max.

    1. I was diagnosed 13 years ago, my specialist insisted I take AREDS2 I have taken it every day, I don't know if it has kept it at bay, but I haven't had a shot for 5 years. I won't stop taking it just because it makes me feel like I am helping my eyes and one is even showing improvement. I haven't made any other changes in my life experience, so do they work? I don't know, but I feel better taking them.

      1. Six years, every now and then

        1. I had a break where I didn't have an eye injection for 9 months, but had the OCT tests every month to check my status. All of a sudden I had another eye "attack" where I saw gaps in my vision/grayness and broken lines. I needed to start injections every 3 months. apparently the medicine stays in your eye helping for 3 months. My fist eye injection was 1/2009, had a 9 month break with no injections, had a problem, back on eye injections every 3 months still today. My Retina specialist calls it Maintenance Therapy. It is to prevent any red blood vessels from bleeding behind the eye and i have had no problems since.

          1. This makes for some very interesting reading. This optometrist sites some studies (Carnivore Doctor on YouTube)...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=El7yrQSTsnI
