Dry AMD

I am new to the forum. I have DRY AMD and have read many of the postings, all mainly saying that it is important that you see a retinal professional to see if your Dry AMD is progressing etc.

I am from the UK and I don't know any one who has managed to see a retinal professional . I have asked many times to be referred to a retinal professional only to be told there isn't one.

I can only assume that all the postings where they get decent treatment are from other countries.

  1. welcome to our community. Here in the USA, I think most of us do see retinal specialist. I do know some, especially those with early stage dry macular degeneration, see their ophthalmologist for checkups. Some receive injections for wet macular degeneration. How often are you checked by your doctor? I encourage you to stay active in this community. We do have some members from the UK active in the community. I hope someone will respond to your post.
