Vaccines using mRNA technology - could this negatively impact AMD?
Some of the new COVID vaccines use mRNA technology. Has anyone who has received these vaccines experienced worsening of their AMD condition as a result? Have any studies been performed to ensure that this technology will not accelerate the progression of AMD?
in my research for an article I wrote regarding the vaccine and AMD patients I did not find and contraindications for people with AMD. It is my understanding that there has not been any specific research into the safety of the vaccine for patients with AMD. When in doubt I would suggest discussing it with your primary care doctor. Best wishes, Sharon Moore Advocate
