Adapting daily life

Some days I wake up not realizing that I have wet macula in one eye and dry in the other. My complication is that had monovision corrective lenses inserted with cataract Surgery. My wet eye has the distance lens so I am back to wearing eyeglasses so that I can see to drive etc.
I also have difficulty doing anything without bright light so dark restaurants and night driving is difficult to navigate..
I have been stable for several years and I've altered my life to accommodate my 6 week interval injection and other daily activities that i used to enjoy.

  1. You sound really on top of your diagnosis and care plan. Bravo!
There are days when I wake up realizing that my vision hasn't changed and I alternately go, "Oh, no, no miracle over night" or "Whew, not any worse. With the latter I utter a silent "Thank you" and get up to start my regimen.
I wish someone had told me that I had a choice of lenses when my cataract surgery was done. Of course, that was at least ten years ago, the equivalent of the Dark Ages.
Thanks so much for your message and your positive attitude.

    1. it's very good to hear that you've been stable for several years. Having cataracts definitely complicates matters. I have them, and they will have to be operated on eventually. There are quite a few different choices of lenses now, and I do wonder which ones I will choose, or which ones the doctor will recommend for me, when the time comes. If you had the distance lens in your wet eye, did you have a close-up lens in your dry eye? Wendy, Patient Leader.
