The Journey Begins

I had gone for a routine eye exam a year ago and she referred me to a specialist. I went to the specialist and they ran all these weird tests on my eyes.

Official diagnosis

The doctor came in and looked at my eyes and and went over tests with me telling me I had macular degeneration in both eyes. He said it's just that beginning stage of it so that's good. He gave me samples of AREDS and said he wanted me to pick this up and take one twice a day.

Progression explained

He explained how it can change from dry which I have to wet. He said not everyone's turn to wet which is the bad kind. He said he will see me every 6 months to see how my eyes are doing. I went back in the Fall and my eyes hadn't changed at all.

Protecting my eyes

I asked about the blurriness and he said I'm on numerous medications that cause blurry eyes. I did notice after that, first thing in the morning they are clear. So far so good. Oh and also always wear sunglasses, I have a pair of cocoons that I wear over my glasses instead of sunglasses that I bought from them after my 1st appointment since my prescription had changed, also never sit anywhere near windows in restaurants.

I guess I'm a bit paranoid that it will get worse, but I'm hoping it will stay the same!
