When prescription glasses no longer work

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced reaching the point where their ophthalmologist said they cannot increase your eyeglass prescription any higher? I'm not there yet, but am thinking about when that day arrives. In particular, what is put in place of your Rx lens? Is it a blank, or is the strongest Rx that you had kept in place? I have GA in one eye and intermediate Dry MD in the other. I see my doctor this week to follow up with my newest change in visual acuity. Thank you

  1. i was told at my last exam they can no longer adjust my prescription to improve my vision. I suppose if I need new glasses eventually they will use my old prescription. Your question is a good one to ask your doctor. Warm regards, Sharon Moore patient leader
