What are your recommendations for assistive technology?

Hi! I was reading about the E-Sight glasses. I come from a middle-income household. And I wanted to know how worth it are the E-Sight glasses? Are they more for at-home use, or do you wear them outside as well? How do people (outsiders mainly) react to them?

My uncle has macular degeneration and spends most of his time outside the house since he works two jobs, one at the office and other at his clinic. His jobs involve him interacting with a lot of people so would these be a good option for him? What do you all normally use them for?
