My poor mama has severe pain
Every time my mom comes home from getting her shots she has to lay on the couch with her eyes closed all day because of the painful burning. She can't even see clearly enough to answer her phone or the desire to do so. It just Burns Burns Burns Yes she takes Tylenol
thanks for writing in about your mother. That sounds awful for her. Many in our community feel it is the Betadine used as antiseptic which causes the irritation after the shots. Things people have tried include asking for just a dab of Betadine rather than flooding the eye with it, extra rinses after the shot - some people ask for about 3 rinses, drops to use at home to rinse the eye more, a damp cloth over the eyes or a patch to wear home. Perhaps the doctor can be asked about these. You are obviously already going to have a conversation with him about the bruising and lack of antibiotics! Best wishes, Wendy, Patient Leader.
