Lighting that is too bright?

One community member asks:

Does anyone ever have trouble with too much light? Afternoon sunlight can be so bright I have to close the blinds or drapes. Anyone have experience or thoughts on this? -Andrea, MacularDegeneration.net Team Member

  1. I know light sensitivites and changes in light can be frustrating for many. I hope others will chime in and share any personal experiences with you, Andrea! - Shelby, MacularDegeneration.net Team Member

    1. Living in Florida, that afternoon sun can be too much. I'm 72. Coping with cataracts as well it just makes things worse. Mine are ready to remove, but my MD may be a problem. Just told by my optometrist my MD has gotten slightly worse so going to the opthamologist to have that addressed as well. Problem I have to wait until late August - first available appointment while our docs are trying to catch up after being shut down for 2 months. At this point my vision has just gotten worse from the cataracts. No MD blind spots thank God.

      1. I lived in Florida for a year right out of college and you are so right about the sun being 'too much' there, . It is definitely brighter and stronger than where I'm used to living here in the midwest. You certainly have a lot going on right now with your eyes and vision, but I am glad to hear that you have an appointment to get in to see the doctor. Thank you so much for sharing part of your experience with us. Please feel free to reach out if we can help and keep us updated about how your appointment goes in August. Wishing you well. -Andrea, MacularDegeneration.net Team Member
