Injection Protocol for EyleaHD

My dry AMD just turned to wet in my right eye. I got my second shot of EyleaHD yesterday, and the doctor said to come back in six weeks. I have looked at the clinical trial results and the dosing instructions, and they both say patients should have an injection every four weeks for 3 months and then injections may be adjusted. I am concerned that he isn't following that protocol. Is my concern justified?

  1. I would love to be able to answer that question, but it really is something requiring a trained medical opinion. Everyone's eyes are different and can present differently. Only your doctor can tell you why he chose the interval he did. Are you able to phone and ask about this? Wendy, Patient Leader.

    1. Hi. I understand your concern. The Eyelea website clearly states the same dosing instructions you have stated. Are you able to find another Retinal Specialist to confer with? Might be a good idea. Or contact Eyelea and see how critical their dosing is. Present that info to your current RS. If he does not concur, I'd be looking for a new doc. Best of luck...
