Eye injection for wet AMD

I had my injection 5 days ago and my eye is still blurry but My Dr says my eye has responded so well he’s moved my next injection from 13 to 16 weeks. Do the injections just stop the blood vessels from leaking but after a bit your vision does not improve? I’m almost two years out and scared.

  1. the purpose of the injections is to dry up the leaking blood vessels and slow the progression. Some people do see improvement in their vision. Was your eye blurry before the injection? If it is a new symptom you may want to let your doctor know. Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader

    1. thank you, I’ll call my Dr tomorrow.

  2. Bluriness is still there but has improved. Dr did not think this was an emergency so I’ll be seen on Tues. I have no flashing lights or extra floaters. I also have a regular eye exam in 10 days too.

    1. I have a quick question I was supposed to get my eye injection on 6 July that would’ve made it 10 weeks but my specialist moved and my new one is gonna do it on 24 July that will put me at 13 weeks am I OK with the 13 weeks and the PA said to call if I had any trouble

      1. same issue

    2. Yes I have thanks for the information

      1. sorry I couldn’t figure out how to reply! I also was given a new retinal specialist and I feel his attention is not at the same level as my first one. Also he decided to wait 14 weeks till my next injection but he’s on vacation so we moved it to 16 weeks. It’s definitely scary. I wish the retinal specialist could tell if we needed glasses. My eye glasses exam is next week and hopefully will clear up some of my blurriness. I agree with others to keep a close watch.

      2. it’s unfortunate your new doctor isn’t as attentive as the previous one. Any chance you can ask for a different doctor ? Do you use the Amsler grid at home to monitor for changes? Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader
