Just wondering what people think is the most important thing one can do to avoid nasty progression.
Diet? Sunlight? Screen time?
I'm very curious.. I have one good eye which I certainly wish to preserve.
Just wondering what others do -- or don't do....Any thoughts?

Hi Wendy - I agree with Areds intake as very important. It's first line I guess. I think screen time may play a significant role. I do a lot of it.
So, you have one eye still ok with dry. The other is now wet, as I recall. Same as me. We may have gone over this before but many posts have come and gone - hard to remember each and every one.
I saw a post by a woman who said she was given injections immediately when change occurred and did they did not help. We are all different so should not worry I suppose.
I think the dry and the wet are so similar in terms of the cause. Leaking blood vessels into macular. I don't know how md's differentiate the two - end result pretty much the same - unless eye structure changes somehow.
Don't mind me - just rambling on about this very difficult situation.
Hope all is well in Sydney...

Agree -- no abnormal blood vessels in dry. Since that is the main reason for wet, that gives us the difference in the two types.
While I am trying to keep an upbeat attitude, I just feel inevitability of this disease creeping in to my future. My doc said 5-10% chance of second eye being attacked - however he did use the word, "hopefully" - I would have liked something a little stronger in his wording but he must tell it like it is, I guess. 5-10% seems like a small chance so I will think positive even if his words were only mildly positve.
Enjoy your Sydney spring - we are just at the fall stage. My fave time of year in New England.
Best wishes for a good exam, injection and outcome for visit #6...😀
