Mysterious Objects Block My Vision
It started a few months after I fell and injured my head. I required emergency surgery for a head wound. I started seeing a bright orange light that wouldn't go away. I went to an opthamologist that my husband had gone to before. That doctor sent me at once to a retina specialist. That specialist diagnosed my macular degeneration through optical testing machines. The pictures looked to me like a volcano erupting.
Vision changes after my macular degeneration diagnosis
A year later, I saw painted lines in a parking lot that I thought were crooked. My husband said the lines were absolutely straight. So I looked at my grid and watching TV I saw wavy lines. I went back to my retina specialist and was diagnosed with macular again. Now I have been treated with eye injections from two different doctors since 2010. I have had mostly good experiences, but I want to tell of some interesting things.
Sometimes the injections caused a series of bubble like objects, like a string of pearls. They didn't last more than a few days. That occurred very seldom in the first few years. 2 times I saw things that looked like spider webs in one of my eyes. They are very faint but they are still there. I have consistently seen visual things that looked like billows of smoke or clouds. They move in a small central area in both eyes.
At times I also see white round objects that move on the outer edges of my eyes from top to bottom or from bottom to top. Occasionally, the objects move left to right on top. But never right to left. I also sometimes see a patch that looks like a pile of brown fur, or a patch of short lines that look like scattered sticks. Still very seldomly I see a movement of a white object from left to right. All these patches are near the center of my vision field.

I have asked my doctors and not get much response. They are mostly concerned with floaters, which I rarely get. These patches have occurred often through the years. On the internet I see only pictures of how black patches obscure one's vision. I don't have any of these. I just have blurry lines or grey patches. Even the grey ones are almost invisible. These are with my eyes open. With my eyes closed, I see the black patches. Each eye has a different shape because my eyes developed macular at different times. My right was the first and then my left developed a year later. Lately my left eye has added a smaller shape and several lines. Has anyone else had any of these experiences? I would like to know.
