Progressive Macular Degeneration

It began several years ago with dry macular degeneraiton in my left eye. Eventually, it became wet. Then in my right eye the same thing happened. After about 5 years of injections in the left eye, I lost vision.

Switching doctors

By this time, my right eye was having injections every 4-5 weeks. I also have a cataract in my right eye that is worsening. My doctor first told me it was too risky to have surgery on it, and later told me I could have it done. I have not done it though. I have had the same doctor for years, but decided to change, just recently I began treatment with the doctor.

Failing eye sight and grief

I am 85, diabetic, (type 2), and am on 12 units of Lantus. I also have sick sinus syndrome and have had a pacemaker for 10 years. I have sorrow off and on because of the reality of my failing right eye situation. My husband died almost 3 years ago, so I know some of my grief comes from that.

I am told that it would not help me to have an upgrade of my glasses in strength.
