I've had AMD for 3 years. In the past year I've begun to notice things are not as vivid. My husband is fighting cancer and congestive heart disease. I have had to take on chores that he has done in the 63 years of marriage. I am driving him to his medical appointments due to being unable to walk and using oxygen. Also handling household bills, etc. I have a small magnifier but could use additional help.

Do the after-reaction of your shots vary from shot to shot? If so, why do you think that is?

 <inline-mention username="siouxsie" user-id="3127278"/> community members here have certainly said that their after reactions have been different from shot to shot. Many put it down to discomfort from the Betadine used as an antiseptic. Sometimes it isn't rinsed out sufficiently and then next time they request more rinsing. Wendy, Patient Leader.

Oh yes, yes, yes! The Betadyne!!. Have them tell their eye/staff to use the "Betadine swab". No more Betadine issues after that. It's wonderful.

Yes, they tell me they HAVE to use Betadine, but instead of a drop or three, they have a long (maybe 5" swab with a tip on it that they dip into the Betadine, and then apply to your eye, only where the needle will go in. The results are so so much better. But you have to ask for it, and for them to put it into your chart for each time they do a shot. And then keep reminding them!
