Laser Treatment for Wet MD

Hello, I have been getting shots in both eyes. My Doctor said he was discussing with the other Doctors about having me get the laser eye treatment since the injections are keeping my eyes from getting worse but they aren't getting better. Even with the new drug that people are having great success with, me, just the same.

Has anyone had the laser treatment?

  1. Laser treatment is a good option for treating wet macular degeneration (MD). It can help to improve vision or prevent vision loss in some cases. The best candidates for laser treatment are those whose macular degeneration does not affect vision very much but who still have trouble seeing small details. Laser treatment for macular degeneration is usually combined with injections of anti-VEGF medication. This medication is usually given before laser treatment. One injection contains enough medication for three treatments.

    1. Thanks for sharing your perspective on laser treatment for macular degeneration. Have you had this procedure done? Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader

  2. Nope. But my aunt underwent for this procedure.

    1. What was her experience like? All the best, Abby (Team Member).

  3. I had this done It is not painful but you have to stay out of the light for a few days i did not notice any improvement but i would not discourage anyone else form trying it out

    1. thank you. Did you have to have your shots less often after the laser?

    2. thank you for sharing your experience with the laser treatment. Sorry you didn’t get the results you hoped for. Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader
